Monday went to Six Flags Great Adventure, which is probably the greatest theme park in the world. Not even kidding.
It only costs $30 to get in, plus you can get another ticket free with a coke can which is sexy. Then with rides like this you can’t say you didn’t get your money’s worth.
We went with a school field trip, but it was only for Math and Physics Club, and I’m in math club. About 30 kids went, but I just hung out with 3 of my friends the whole time.
It opens at 10:30 am, and we got there a little early. After they actually let us into the park we literally SPRINTED to the ride linked above, rode the third train of the day, then went off to the other coasters (which you can see pictures of on the website above). We road Nitro twice (front row once, which is infintely better than the other rows). We then rode this new ride called Dark Knight. The line was actually kind of long (30 minutes). You walk into this room and watch this like, fake news cast of Gotham City and they talk about the Joker and crap, then you go into this room they made look like a subway.
You go on the ride, and it SUCKS. It’s indoors, dark, but nothing’s unexpected. The movie and commercial actually made it seem like scary stuff was gonna pop out, but nothing did. Let down…
Still, it was worth riding once. I wouldn’t go again, though.
Then we rode the wooden ride, El Toro, which was freakin’ awesome. After a quick lunch (and evading some extremely inflated prices with a voucher that we got) we rode Medusa, probably the oldest ride there. My friend’s phone fell out of his pocket. Major lulz.

Lunch is a crazy period at school:
Food goes flying (discreetly) between our lunch table and the annoying meathead football playing freshmen who think they’re tough table. If you fit in that category, here’s a picture to keep you occupied:

That? That’s you after learning how to read. Yay for you!
Anyway, in the spring whoever is the teacher in our lunch can take us outside, if they want. Ours is a freakish tanning-salon-addict gym teacher who no one likes. By her all knowing powers, anyone who ever got spoken to for throwing food or popping paper bags can’t go outside.
Today my table and the our friends went outside, only to be turned around by the omniscient gym teacher. We remarked “This is unfair segregation” and being the genius that she is, she said “Yeah! It is!”
We ended up going into the gym and playing volleyball, but tomorrow we get to go outside. TAKE THAT, BIOTCH

!!!! Typing this from UBUNTU which means dual boot worked
Turned out I had to defragment like 80 times before it would partition right. Haha.
And now I will be REALLY cool and make the title of this post completely unrelated to the main theme of it.
This post topic?
TECHNOLOGY.
As I randomly drifted off into thought today in school, I pondered all the devices that impact my life. A cell phone, iPod, portable gaming console, digital camera, not to mention a computer and Playstation 3. That’s not counting commodities that are commonplace in today’s households: a television and phone for example. Go back even further and included in the list of technology is the humble refridgerator and stove.
What would happen if we had none of this technology? Obviously, the
way we think of it now, it would be DEaTH: but what if it were a matter of life and death?
So I’ve set up this fun interesting experiment here to see what sort of technology is most important to the world. You can find the survey here, on PollDaddy.com. A big thanks to that site for it’s effectiveness in creating surveys. I’ve also dedicated a page for all these super cool new “events” I’m going to be doing off and on, mostly when some cool thing pops into my head. You can get to this new page by clicking the tab on the top of this page.

Looked at the calendar about 5 minutes ago (well not really, I was motivated to post this by Tawm remarking in MSN chat) and HOLY CRAP school is almost over. 15 days until finals, and one of those is my birthday so yay.
Teachers are STUPID. They all feel like they need to get more material in to compensate for their lackluster performance in the first part of the year. Here’s a break down of how each class will go until June 17th (last day before finals).
And the finals themselves? The answer is no. Finals are generally mundane, simple, and base in their construction. Teachers are too lazy to concoct something near the difficulty of problems we’ve worked on all year.

Today (call it extreme boredom, another link in my long cycle of procrastination over that thesis, or intrigue), I decided to download Ubuntu (which is a form of Linux for all you INFIDELS) and partition my hard drive for a dual boot. Yay for fancy terms?
I asked 1337 about it, who has a tri-boot with Ubuntu set up, and I downloaded the .iso file. Easy enough, I can access all my windows files from Ubuntu, can surf the internet with zero viruses, and with a reliable operating system. Yay for that.
All good things come with a price, I guess. First I had to sit through a 2 hour download (which was well spent making up lies for my thesis, and randomly browsing digg). Then, when the file finished downloading, I had to burn to a disc.
Normally I keep a stack of blank CDs for burning (my computer can’t burn DVDs). Well, I go into my room to get one, and they are all gone. I tore apart my whole house looking for a CD. I finally found one in my crappy stereo that I never use, but it was read only. So now I have to go to CVS or whatever tomorrow morning to get a blank CD, then I’ll probably end up blowing up my Windows partition and wiping my Hard Drive, thus eliminating my thesis, at which point I’ll explain to my idiot teacher what happened IN THE MOST TECHNICAL TERMS POSSIBLE. I’ll pull out a geek dictionary to figure out ones I don’t know.
The other funny thing is what’s going to happen when I finally get dual boot running. My Dad doesn’t understand the concept of logging onto Windows XP, let alone partitions and dual booting. When I switched to Firefox about a year ago he was so confused I had to help him figure it out. Now he’ll be like “Oh, what’s Ubuntu” and I’ll be like… “Oh, the computer updated” which is what I said about Firefox. Then he’ll be like how do I work this and then I’ll have to just make it so he can boot into Windows, or something. Haha.

Work today, 12:30pm to 5pm. I work at a supermarket as a cashier, and it’s not half bad. Good pay, employee discount and all that crap, plus it’s the easiest thing alive. Scan the item, punch in numbers, etc. I only just started like, a week ago, but today was the first day I was alone at the register (which was good, considering I hate being supervised). Everyday something crazy happens once in a while, but today was kind of funny. My receipt thing didn’t want to cooperate: first, the paper roll ran out. Then the paper jammed, and one customer had to leave without a receipt (or else I would have to scan everything again, not cool).
I’m supposed to get a break if I work more than 3 hours, and since today I worked 4 and half, I was supposed to get a break. I really wasn’t sure WHEN, but I went through the whole day until about 4:30pm when the manager came up to me apologizing that I didn’t get one. lol. I ended up taking a 15 minute break, working for another 10 minutes, then leaving. Hawt.
The thing about work is, you get to see what people buy. People buy CRAP. One lady bought $500 dollars worth of groceries today. Another lady bought about 80 cat food cans. Seriously, wth? Be normal, kthx. I got tired of scanning the damn cat food.
And another thing: if the fruits and veggies don’t have a sticker for you to type in the code, you have to look it up. For you to look it up, you have to know what it is. I said to a guy “What kind of apples are these” and he goes “Those are… peaches.”
LOL @ self. You’d think I’d know the difference, but I guess not. Teehee.
Did a little coding after work, finished my pwnt profile, which can be seen here, if you are logged into pwnt. I’m proud of the result, especially because I got to use all that Web 2.0 layout fluff (reflections, tabs, and all that). Yay for fluff.
Later I decided I wanted to make my IP 32.10.6.7 (inside joke) and I ended up crashing my entire network, haha. Turns out I disabled DHCP (which is what the router uses to sort of rent out IP addresses to computers on the network.
Anyways, until next time. Yay for generic conclusions and image-less posts.
